[Interview] Orange Caramel Talks About Being More Popular Than After School
Using food, such as sushi, rice cake, bibimbap and cupcakes, as the costume concepts, many eyes have been on Orange Caramel and its newest hit Catallena. It’s a concept that is completely different from that of After School.
The members shared their thoughts about the fact that unit group range Caramel is gaining more popularity than its root, After School.
Meeting with Newsen at the waiting room for a music program, Raina said, “It’s bitter to hear people say ‘they’re doing better than After School’ instead of ‘Orange Caramel is doing well,’ because we’re still a part of After School. That doesn’t mean I’m not happy at all but it does give a double meaning. I hope both can do well.”
The members, who have been making appearances in various broadcasting programs, have also been catching attention with their straightforward statements.
Lizzy revealed that it’s been a year since she became single while Nana confessed that she was hit on by ten male celebrities. About this, Lizzy said, “I was being honest when I said that. There’s nothing wrong with dating.”
Orange Caramel claimed, “All three of us tend to be quite straightforward. We do adjust the level of what we say, but we’re more open about ourselves.”
Lizzy also talked about having received many lessons in order to get into a foreign language high school. She revealed, “I studied for tests like TOEIC and TOEFL in order to get into a foreign language school. My TOEIC score was good enough but I had to take a math test in English. The math test was too hard. So I studied hard at a normal high school.”
