The highly anticipated drama Three Days set the record as being the most expensive Korean drama to be sold in China so far.

Starring JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun, Park Ha Sun and Son Hyun Ju, SBS’s Three Days has been sold in China at a price higher than SBS’s You Who Came From the Stars.

The representative of the drama production company Kim Yong Hoon said, “In the past, Chinese market suggested less than 10,000 USD per episode. But Three Days was sold at a price five times more than that. After checking, we’ve confirmed that it’s the highest price paid for any K-drama so far.”

China’s Youku Purchases Drama ‘Three Days’ at the Highest Price

China’s Youku, which purchased the publication rights of Three Days, records having the highest number of members and real time traffic out of all Chinese video streaming websites.

The production company stated, “The demand and price of K-dramas have been falling due to Japan’s conservative shift and falling exchange rate of yen. But the gap has been filled thanks to the Chinese market. At the center of it, is a hallyu star like Park Yoo Chun and well-made drama content.”
