[Interview] Huh Gak Opens Up About His Brother Huh Gong
Huh Gak, who debuted through the audition program Superstar K2, showed his support for his twin brother Huh Gong, who is currently competing on the finals of Mnet’s The Voice of Korea.
In an interview held with enews on April 19, Huh Gak said, “I hope my brother gets good results in The Voice of Korea. Thankfully, he made it to the finals in great shape. The April 20 live broadcast is crucial, and I hope it turns out well.”
He added, “There are good things and bad things about twins being active together. There are people who say mean things and there are people who like it. Although we’re brothers, if my brother becomes an official singer, we’re going to promote separately.”
“A while ago, we attended a shoot for the twin special of MBC’s Come to Play,” Huh Gak said. “I realized there are strengths that we can both depend on after appearing in a broadcast together. If we get a chance, I want to perform in a duet with my brother.”
When asked why Huh Gong didn’t appear in Superstar K but applied for The Voice of Korea, a blind audition, Huh Gak said, “Actually, he applied for Superstar K2. He attended the regional preliminaries in Incheon, but because he wasn’t in a good condition, he was eliminated and I made it through.”
Huh Gong looked on as Huh Gak went on to win Superstar K2, and this year applied for The Voice of Korea, making it through the first live broadcast competition.
“I wasn’t able to make it to his first live performance on April 6 because of a personal issue. I didn’t get to see the performance, but I’m cheering him on,” said Huh Gak.
Huh Gak released his new album Lacrimoso on April 3, and is promoting his single The Person That Loved You. The single is gathering much popularity, rising to the tops of various music charts.
