Girls’ Generation to Release Worldwide Album
Girls’ Generation has already stepped outside of Korea to conquer Asia, but it seems as if the girls are hungry for more.
On October 4, Girls’ Generation will be releasing the single The Boys, from its third studio album. The single will not only be released in Korea, but also through various online music websites across Asia, and it will even be made available in the US, Europe and South America through iTunes. The ‘Girls’ Generation syndrome’ will continue the next day, whereupon the entire album will be released.
The album has been specifically produced to appeal to a worldwide audience to befit the status of Girls’ Generation as an internationally appealing girl group, and the group is readying itself for explosive reactions from fans from around the world by releasing both Korean and English versions of The Boys.
The Boys, which was produced by Teddy Riley, of Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga fame, is already being hyped up as the next Girls’ Generation megahit, especially as the song will be the Girls’ first in 11 months.
After sweeping the Korean year-end awards ceremonies last year, Girls’ Generation began promoting overseas, and managed to break the record for highest overseas artist album sales in Japan, selling over than 680,000 copies of its Japan debut album, released in June, and also successfully held a national Arena tour concert with over than 140,000 fans.
The group also gathered the biggest audience for an overseas girl group for its exclusive concert in Taiwan, and was a major factor in the success of the SMTown Live World Tour concert in Paris, so it’s likely that The Boys will be a hit with all of the Girls’ many fans.
Girls’ Generation plans to release teaser images for the album of each of the members, starting with Taeyeon on September 26.
