China to Makes Its Version of ‘The Great Marriage’
China bought off the format of JTBC’s The Great Marriage and will make its own version of the show.
This is the second time that JTBC’s show was sold in China, following Hidden Singer, which was sold in May of this year.
The Great Marriage is a variety show that features female celebrities experiencing married life by living with the parents-in-law.
The show has been gathering a lot of attention by featuring SISTAR’s Soyou, who appears as the daughter in law of famous Korean singers Jung Hoon Hee and Kim Tae Hwa, and Ailee, who appears as the daughter in law of a traditional Korean family who has carried on pottery business for generations.
JTBC rep stated, “The Great Marriage combines elements of a reality show and family, which are popular themes in China. The show has been receiving lots of attention from Chinese broadcasting markets even before it started airing.”
