Love Rain, which has been building a lot of hype based on its casting alone, held its first script reading.

The reading took place at the drama’s production company Yoon’s Color, with writer Oh Soo Yeon, director Yoon Suk Ho, and actors Jang Keun Suk, Girls’ Generation′s (SNSD) Yoona, Kim Shi Hoo, Son Eun Suh, Hwang Bo Ra and Seo In Guk present.

Director Yoon Suk Ho led the scene, taking care to not miss any details, while all the actors played their parts as if they were already on set.

Director Yoon Suk Ho surprised many by saying, “Many held secret deep crushes in the 70s, which the actors have never experienced. I put in this script the emotions and experiences that have lasted in my memory, [from] a time when you were happy even though you were just holding your love inside your heart.”

Jang Keun Suk will be acting two roles, the kind-hearted artist Seo In Ha of the 70s, who holds an unwavering love for one woman, and Seo In Ha’s son, photographer Seo Jun from the present, a member of the digital generation who is liberal in views towards work and love.

“When I first read the script it made me tear up. I want to act out the emotions of the two roles well, and convey the message Love Rain contains with the touching emotions I felt. I believe that the director and writer will help me with the parts I have no experience in,” Jang Keun Suk said.

He joked that he is “usually the one who brightens the atmosphere,” but “acting in calm roles as if behind a veil feels ticklish,” after being praised for his skillful acting and engaging emotions.

Yoona also has to act out two roles, the pure college student Kim Yun Hee of the 70s, who has a shy smile, and the bright and positive girl Yoori from the present. Yoona showed her determination by saying, “It was pressuring because I had to act two roles which had very different charms, but I feel more confident now that I’ve tried it together with the director, writer, and other actors. I will work hard to learn everything one by one.”

Love Rain tells of a pure love which transcends time and generations, and will start shooting in September. It is aiming to be broadcast in early 2012.
