YG′s Winner Voted as ′The Most Anticipated Rising Star of 2014′
YG’s Winner was selected as the most anticipated rising star in 2014.
According to a Korean internet portal site DC Inside, YG’s Winner earned first place on a poll, which ran from November 26 through December 3, on ‘Who is the most anticipated rising star in 2014?’
Earning 15,722 (57.8%) votes out of the total of 27,223 votes for the poll, Winner took a major lead, beating out other major rising stars such as Lee Jong Suk and EXO.
Winner is YG’s new boy group, made up of the ‘winners’ of an audition program WIN: Who Is Next.
The group hasn’t had its official debut yet, but has already proven its potential as a new hallyu star by gathering over 8,000 fans for a promotional event in Japan.
Second place was taken by singer John Park with 7,915 votes (29.1%) followed by Lee Jong Suk who received 1,103 votes (4.1%). John Park has been appearing in KBS 2TV’s Our Neighborhood’s Masters of Variety and Sports, showing off his charm with a boy-next-door image.
Lee Jong Suk, who won third place, also gained popularity by starring in various dramas and movies this year, including School 2013, I Hear Your Voice, No Breathing and Face Reader.
The other stars who made it to the chart include Yeo Jin Goo, EXO, Yoo Yeon Seok and Jung Woo.
