Supernova finally got its long-awaited prize after debuting in Japan in 2009.

According to the Oricon chart, Supernova ranked number one under the daily album chart with the album SIX as soon as it was released on December 3. This is the group’s first time ranking number one on the Oricon with a full-length album instead of a single album.

“It has been over four years since we debuted in Japan on September 9, 2009,” wrote Supernova on its official website. “We are grateful for being able to stay together as a group this long and for ranking number one. We are thankful for the staff and fans for all of this. We ask that you continue to support us.”

Supernova’s Sungjae also expressed his happiness through his Twitter, thanking his fans in and out of Korea for the group’s achievement.

Supernova debuted in Japan in 2009, two years after its debut in Korea. It has been performing as a five-membered group since its leader Yunhak had to enlist in the army, but re-united as a six-membered group after Yunhak finished his duties last month.
