Supreme Team’s Simon D showed he was proud of himself and his acting.

Simon D attended the press conference for MBC’s upcoming sitcom Standby held on April 6 in Ilsan and said, “I thought I would be nervous but I wasn’t. I think it fits me well. I’m happy that I’ve grown to become an actor.”

He added, “My role is an aspiring rapper who came to Seoul from Pusan. He’s just like [the real] me. Because I’ll be acting as myself, I think it’ll work if I just memorize the dialogue well. People around me, especially Ryu Jin hyung (big brother) keep praising me that I’m good and that it’s like I’ve been acting for a long time. I think I’m doing better because everyone says I’m doing great. I took a step back in 2011, but I’ll give my all in this sitcom.”

Simon D first made it big in 2010 with the variety program Hot Brothers.

Producer Jeon Jin Soo, actors Choi Jung Woo, Park Jun Geum, Ryu Jin, Lee Ki Woo, Ha Seok Jin, Jung So Min, Kim Soo Hyun and Go Kyung Pyo were also present at the conference. ZE:A’s Im Si Wan and Jewelry S’ Kim Ye Won accompanied Simon D as the singer cast.

Standby is a sitcom about the love and concerns of those working in an imaginary broadcasting system named TV11.

The timid announcer Ryu Jin Haeng (Ryu Jin), easygoing variety producer Soo Hyun (Kim Soo Hyun) and suck-up scriptwriter Kim Yeon Woo will appear as some of the main characters. The sitcom will air from April 9 as the follow up of High Kick: The Short Legs Strike Back.
