Roy Kim Keeps Promise to Donate Prize Money from ′Superstar K4′
Roy Kim has decided to donate some of his prize money from Superstar K4 to Yoo Jae Ha’s Music Concours.
A staff of Superstar K4 revealed on November 19 that Roy Kim decided to give away some of his prize money to Yoo Jae Ha’s Music Concours, which is taking place on November 24.”
Yoo Jae Ha’s Music Concours is an annual contest commemorating the late singer Yoo Jae Ha, to give people a chance to achieve their dream of becoming a singer.
After winning Mnet’s Superstar K4 in 2012, Roy Kim had promised to donate 300,000,000 KRW (~284,000 USD), after investing the other 200,000,000 KRW on making his albums, to organizations that need help.
Since then, Roy Kim has been donating the money to numerous organizations including Korea′s Compassion for children in need, Good Neighbors and animal protection centers.
He decided to donate the rest of the money to Yoo Jae Ha’s Concours, thereby keeping his promise to donate his prize money for good causes.
Meanwhile, Roy Kim headed to the States on August 25, in order to attend Georgetown University for the fall semester.
