[2013 MAMA] D-10 Rankings: EXO Lags Behind Shinhwa, G-Dragon Leads in Three Categories
The 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) is drawing ever nearer, and the polls are buzzing with just 10 days left to vote.
According to the current rankings on the MAMA voting page as of November 12, more than six million votes have been cast in the 18 categories highlighting the year’s best in music.
Most notably, despite hitting it big with hits Wolf and Growl this year, idol group EXO is lagging behind K-Pop seniors Shinhwa in two categories, including Best Male Group and Artist of the Year.
In the Best Male Group category, Shinhwa is leading with 38.2 percent of votes, while EXO is ranked second with 25.6 percent of votes.
Shinhwa and EXO are also up for Artist of the Year, where Shinhwa is leading with 32.2 percent of votes, while EXO is trailing in second place with 19.2 percent of votes.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon, who made a big bang this year all on his own with solo album Coup d’Etat, has taken the top spot in three major categories, including Best Male Artist, Best Dance Performance – Male Solo, and Nissan Juke Best Music Video.
G-Dragon has a strong lead in the Best Male Artist category with 48.9 percent of votes against Lee Seung Gi, who has earned 27.4 percent of votes. The race is much closer in the Best Dance Performance category, where G-Dragon is leading with 35.6 percent of votes against – interestingly enough – fellow Big Bang member Seungri, who follows close behind with 31.3 percent.
SHINee, SNSD, 2NE1′s CL and f(x) are also currently leading in their respective categories for Best Dance Performance - Male Group, Best Dance Performance - Female Group, Best Dance Performance - Female Solo and Best Female Group.
Voting closes on November 21, so head on over to the voting page now!
