The Shinhwa members seemed dazed while sitting backstage for a recent music show. The group met its 14th anniversary this year, and came together for the first time in four years to release its 10th album and promote its single Venus.

Shinhwa Amazed at Recent Idol Singers

Their youngest member, Andy, already passed the age of 30 a couple of years ago, but the Shinhwa members seemed to be as full of energy as they had been for their debut with Resolver in 1998. They also had something that other groups don’t: the close ties coming from their 14 years together.

Shinhwa’s Shin Hye Sung said in a backstage waiting room at KBS2’s Music Bank on March 30, “I still can’t believe all six of us are going onstage again. It’s wonderful.”

He especially couldn’t hide his disappointment at having to go onstage on crutches due to his knee injury, saying, “I prepared a lot with the members but I’m sad that I can’t perform with them.”

The members, however, seemed to know what he was thinking, and tried to take care of him as much as possible.

Eric was fixing Shin Hye Sung’s crutches so that they would be more comfortable, saying, “I’ve been on crutches before,” and everyone took turns on the crutches to make sure they were fine.

In another corner, Andy and Jun Jin spent their time playing games together.

Shin Hye Sung said, “I’m surprised we’re promoting with idol singers who were born in the 1990s. I never dreamed this would happen. I’m amazed.”

Lee Min Woo didn’t seem too awkward compared to the others, as he could be seen having a talk with 2AM’s Changmin just outside the room, showing that the members were enjoying their first set of promotions in four years.
