EXO-K and EXO-M held a successful debut showcase in Korea on March 31, and the day after, April 1, the group travelled to Beijing, China for another.

Hundreds of fans swarmed to the Beijing Capital International Airport early in the morning to catch the group arrive in the country, and continued to follow the members around wherever they went, holding up placards with the members’ names and the group’s logo and screaming out their support.

Although EXO-K and EXO-M are rookies, who have yet to officially appear in televised broadcasts before and the visit was their first in China, they boasted a popularity that rivaled that of other established top stars, heightening anticipation on how much higher they would soar in the future with their full-fledged promotions.

The visit was also an opportunity to gauge the results of the group’s online promotions that had taken place through the web over about 100 days through various videos.

EXO’s showcase took place on the evening of April 1 in a theater located in downtown Beijing, and was a great success, with the audience loudly singing along to the songs and cheering for their favorite members. More than 100 members of the local press, including those from CCTV, Sina.com, Sohu.com and Enlight Entertainment, a popular entertainment news program in China, had their eyes trained on the showcase.

Sina.com, one of China’s largest portal sites, reported on the showcase while praising EXO as a ‘rookie that’s not like a rookie at all, with so many different talents’.

EXO-K and EXO-M performed its prologue singles History and What is Love, along with a powerful performance by EXO-K member Kai and a martial arts performance by EXO-M member Tao. The group’s debut single MAMA was also unveiled for the first time, and blew away the audience with its majestic sounds and splendid performances.
