Girls′ Generation (SNSD) has been getting worldwide spotlight for their MV I Got a Boy.

SNSD won the Video of the Year award at the first ever YTMA (YouTube Music Awards) on November 4, making headlines in media outlets all around the world, including CNN, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, ABC News, and the New York Times.

There has been much attention given to the fact that SNSD, a K-Pop group, was the first to win the award, and gives hope that K-Pop could potentially rise as a leading genre worldwide.

CNN News read ‘K-pop group Girl’s Generation beats Miley, Lady Gaga at first YouTube awards” and introduced SNSD as a national phenomenon in Korea. The Wall Street Journal named SNSD a big victor, siding them with Eminem, and predicted their success in the American music industry in the near future.

In addition, Reuters, an international news agency headquartered in London, also featured SNSD on their page, reporting that they are still on their way up in the American music charts.

SNSD will be holding “2013 Girls’ Generation World Tour ~Girls & Peace~ in HONG KONG’ on November 9 to 10 at the Asia World-Expo Arena.
