‘Superstar K3’ to Hold Audition for New Finalist
Mnet’s Superstar K3 will be choosing an additional finalist to fill in for Yery Band.
On September 21, the producers of Superstar K3 announced, “We will be choosing an additional team to fill Yery Band’s spot as a finalist. The groups who were part of Super Week will be considered, and judges Lee Seung Chul, Yoon Jong Shin and Yoon Mirae will be making the final decision.”
The reason why only groups were made eligible was because Yery Band originally applied as a group. Accordingly, the producers saw fit to choose a group to replace the band. The new team will be joining the other finalists in the finalist training camp, which started up in early September, and will prepare for the live broadcasts, which will begin airing on September 30.
Sistar’s Hyolyn was a guest on tvN’s Taxi recently, where she talked about her friendship with the show’s new MC Kim Gura and her ideal type.
“Though it’s short notice, given right before the live broadcast, the three judges and the producers came to this conclusion after much consideration. We hope to see your support for the new finalist team,” the producers said.
They added, “We will reveal the new finalist through the September 23 broadcast of Super Week. The September 30 live broadcast will go on according to schedule. Everyone is working hard to deliver their best. We hope you look forward to it.”
The groups gathering the most support online to replace Yery Band are Busker Busker, who sang Juliette alongside Two Months in the collaboration mission, the band Haze, who put up a fierce competition with Yery Band, J.J, whose members shed tears after being eliminated after the collaboration performance, and F.A.T Duo, who was eliminated because of a lyrics mix-up.

On how the unlikely pair came to be friends, the Sistar leader said, “I really like Gura oppa, so I bothered him a lot.”
Kim Gura then said, “The people who like me aren’t normal.”
This then lead Kim Gura to ask Hyolyn what her ideal type is, and she said, “It’s not just me, but don’t a lot of women, in general, like the bad boy type?”
On the Kim Gura bad boy type, Hyolyn said, “Gura oppa has his own charms,” before adding, “Rather than someone who acts like he’s taking care of me and says shady things, I connect with people who are honest, even if they come off cold.”
