SMTOWN Takes Over Japan During Live Concert
With the successful completion of the Tokyo Dome Concert, SMTOWN proved its global popularity once again.
On October 26 and 27, the SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Tokyo Special Edition was held at the Tokyo Dome with Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, CSJH the Grace, and J-Min putting on a four hour show with more than 50 songs and 100,000 in the audience.
With the SMTOWN artists currently promoting in Japan, they sang their own songs as well as Japanese songs. There were many collaboration performances throughout the night with Max Changmin and Kyuhyun sang Strawberry, while Tiffany and Henry sang Almost is Never Enough. Kyuhyun and Seohyun performed Beautiful, while SM the Performance, featuring U-Know Yunho, Donghae, Eunhyuk Hyoyeon, Taemin and Kai, performed Spectrum.
The artists exchanged conversation with the audience members with fluent Japanese, and Super Junior especially got the crowd excited with the reminder of the upcoming Super Show 5 at the Kyocera Dome in November as well as a new Japanese single in December.
For fans who weren’t able to get tickets, 137 movie theaters all across Japan were rented out for a live viewing of the concert on October 27. Just on October 27 alone, over 60,000 fans watched the concert through the theater screen, showing the popularity of SMTOWN in Japan.
SMTOWN has held successful shows in Seoul, Los Angeles, Paris, New York, Tokyo, and Beijing in the past.
