T-ara’s previously announced European trip drew buzz for the enormous insurance taken out on the group, but now the same trip is generating buzz once more, this time for a substantial offer it has received from a Japanese publishing company.

The upcoming European trip was previously revealed to be part business, part leisure as the girls travelled through Milan, Venice, Austria and Switzerland.

long the way the members would participate in helping to shoot pictures and videos for a yet-to-debut girl group that Core Contents Media’s CEO, Kim Kwang Soo, is managing, while also shooting each other against the European backdrop.

One major publisher in Japan heard about T-ara′s trip and offered a staggering 150 million Yen (about 2.06 billion won or about 1.8 million USD) for the publishing rights to the trip’s pictorial album, calendar and DVD.

According to Core Contents Media, “We received an offer of 150 million Yen from a famous Japanese publishing company which publishes the pictorials for famous celebrities. The members all were delighted to hear the news but reserved some hesitation saying, ‘We’re not quite yet at that level’, and asked the publishing company to decide after viewing the pictures and videos from Europe.”

Will idol photographers be a new trend now?

This article has been edited on March 29, 2012 at 9:52 am to reflect a mistake in translating the yen, won and dollar amount as 1.5 million yen, instead of 150 million yen. We apologize for the confusion.
