Yoo Hee Yeol Takes BoA’s Place as Judge for K-Pop Star 3
After rumors flew that SM Entertainment won’t be participating in this year’s SBS’ K-Pop Star, they were confirmed when BoA was a no show at the press conference for the audition program.
In BoA’s place, instead, was the new judge Yoo Hee Yeol, who joined Yang Hyun Suk, Park Jin Young, Nam Seung Yong CP and Park Seung Hoon PD at the press conference for K-Pop Star 3, which took place on October 8 at 1:30 PM (KST) in a restaurant located in Mokdong.
“I met BoA for the first time through K-Pop Star. I was really nervous then, and I’m nervous now meeting the new judge. I am a huge fan, so I’m very glad to meet him here,” said Yang Hyun Suk.
“You all didn’t have to prepare this much, so I’m apologetic because when I appeared, all the reporters had this ‘What the hell’ expression on their faces,” said Yoo Hee Yeol, greeting the reporters. “It should have been G-Dragon or Rain… I’m sorry.”
With changes taking place, Yoo Hee Yeol will start as the new judge in the third season of K-Pop Star, which will begin filming in mid-October. It plans on becoming more diverse in age, nationality, and personalities this time around.
