Im Si Wan′s Role Model is Lee Seung Gi
ZE:A’s Im Si Wan is on a roll these days.
After making his face known through MBC’s The Sun and the Moon he’s receiving praise for his steady acting on KBS’ The Equator Man. Following this, he is set to make an attempt into a new area of acting through the upcoming MBC sitcom Standby.
In Standby, Im stars as the third year high school student, ‘Im Si Wan’, who excels in his studies, athletic abilities and musical skills but carries a deep pain inside. Unlike the weaker characters he’s portrayed in the past, this role aims to be a more human one.
Im shared, “From even Three Men and Three Women I really enjoyed sitcoms. When I had my first script reading with my respected seniors for Standby, I felt like I had just met members of my own family. I really came to hold the thought, ‘Ah! As long as I just do well, everything will be fine.’”
When asked who his role model was, Im answered it was Lee Seung Gi, explaining, “I want to appeal to viewers through a diverse range of productions and with a mighty force.”
Standby centers around a fictional television station and the intertwining of love, pain and reality among the people there. The sitcom will premiere in April.
