Having once suffered from depression in the past, Solbi opened up on her SNS to reach out to people who might be going through the same thing.

On September 5, Solbi wrote on her me2day, “As Suicide Prevention Day approaches on September 10, I want to communicate with you all. Everyone has worries and it’s not easy to say them all. I was also like that, so for this day at least, I want to become someone’s unnie, someone’s friend and share it together. If you leave your worries in the comments, I will be with you to the best of my abilities until the 10th^^.”

She added, “The courage to talk about your worries! And the moment of communication. Don’t forget that that is healing! I love you! ^^ If it’s too hard to say them in the comment section, please send me a private message.”

On September 10, Solbi will be choosing five netizens to have one-on-one conversations with.

“Many people commit suicide because they are not able to express their worries and hardships. If those around these people who are thinking about suicide reach out and listen to them, they wouldn’t make such a painful decision,” said Solbi. “I also experienced a difficult time so I understand how it feels. If anyone has a worry, I want to work through with it together by talking.”

Solbi revealed in the past that she experienced severe depression and even had suicidal thoughts. She however learned to get through her depression through different forms of media like reading and painting.
