During the broadcast, So Jung shared, “Up until my appearance on Voice of Korea, I’ve never been told that I was fat. But when I saw myself coming out on television, I was shocked. So I started dieting and ended up developing anorexia.”

“When I was on Voice of Korea, I weighed around 49 kg. Afterwards, I went as low as 38 kg. I’m currently recovering and weigh over 40 kg.”

Continuing her story, she said, “During my diet, I didn’t eat any food. I didn’t eat and just exercised. I just drank water all day, and there was a time when I ate five cherry tomatoes for 2-3 days.”

So Jung added, “I hated that I wanted to eat food. I even looked at my stomach and said, ‘I’m not hungry. Why are you doing this?’”

“Because I didn’t eat, my body felt like it was breaking even when I was wiping it with a towel. I also didn’t get my period for over a year, so I went to the hospital and the doctors told me my body was like that of a fifth grader,” explained So Jung. “My hormone levels were so low that I was like a woman going through menopause. The doctors told me that if I don’t gain 5 kg in body fat, things might get dangerous.”

So Jung said that she began eating again and currently has 5 kg of body fat. She reassured everyone that she’s eating well and on the road to recovery.
