Son Dambi to Battle Lee Hyori in May
Son Dambi opened up on her expected clash on the K-Pop battlefield with her senior Lee Hyori at the press roundtable held on March 19 in Ilsan for the MBC drama Light and Shadow.
Son Dambi is currently appearing in Light and Shadow as the Shine Show’s main singer Yoo Chae Young. She said, “I’m acting as a singer in the drama, but it definitely feels different from the real stage. I miss the real stage.”
“I’m planning to make a comeback in May after releasing a mini album,” she added. “The first single cut is a piece written by Brave Brothers, and we only have the music video shoot left. I’ll show how good the singer Son Dambi can be after careful preparations.”
She then said about her comeback and her competition with senior rival Lee Hyori, “I heard that she’ll be making a comeback. I won’t be able to avoid competing with Lee Hyori sunbaenim (senior), as we both center on sexy concepts.”
Son Dambi and fellow actors Ahn Jae Wook, Nam Sang Mi, Park Won Sook, Jun Kwang Ryul, Sung Ji Roo, Lee Se Chang, Kim Hee Won, Shin Da Eun and Ryu Dam also attended the roundtable to open up on the drama.
Son Dambi rose as one of the top sexy singers in Korea after her debut in 2007. She continued on to acting with SBS’ Dream in 2009, and is currently gathering praise for her acting in Light and Shadow.
