Who Generates the Most Profit for SM?
On March 17, the Financial Supervisory Service, released information on the profit generation made by SM Entertainment’s biggest groups from the past three years.
The FSS, whose primary function to examine and supervise financial institutions and oversee and enforce other financial functions, revealed that SM Entertainment, through an investment stock manual, had shared the net profit earnings of its five top artists from the past three years, up until the third quarter of last year.
The released data showed that Girls’ Generation earned the most during this period, with a total profit of 21.7 billion won, making them number one on SM’s list.
Super Junior came in a distant second with 12.8 billion won in earnings, TVXQ with 11.7 billion won, SHINee at 5.4 billion won and f(x) rounding out the top five with 3.5 billion won.
