JYJ′s Kim Junsu to Start Performing for ′Elisabeth′ Today (August 14)
Kim Junsu will be starting on a new phase of his musical career today with his first performance in a new round of Elisabeth.
His appearance has been gathering much anticipation as he was praised by the musical′s original author to have put on the best act of Tod (Death) ever, and got himself Best Lead Actor Award at the 18th Korea Musical Awards with his former appearance in the piece.
A rep from C-JeS Entertainment said on August 14, "Ticket wars were fiercer than ever at news that Kim Junsu would be returning to the show. Tickets for all 14 sales rounds sold out at a startling rate, and the extra tickets with a limited view that the production company had been holding back were all sold also. All 30,000 tickets are currently gone."
The rep added, "Kim Junsu performed at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in 2010 for Mozart, then at the National Theater of Korea for Tears of Heaven in 2011. By performing at the Seoul Arts Center for Elisabeth this time, he′s set a record of selling out tickets for performances at the three main grand theaters."
At the press call event held on July 25, Kim Junsu had said about Elisabeth, "I decided to appear in Elisabeth in 2013 to show an even better version of Tod in a new interpretation. I′m happy and excited to be performing with the best actors."
Kim Junsu will perform for Elisabeth for about a month.
