Ministry of National Defense Decides to Send PR Agents to the Army Jail

The Ministry of National Defense announced the punishments it would be imposing on the problematic PR agents.

An official from the Ministry said in a phone call with enews on July 25, "Today, the PR agents′ unit decided to send seven of the eight agents in question to the guardhouse (army jail), and one will be put under disciplinary confinement."

According to the official, a Corporal Lee was given 10 days of disciplinary confinement, while Private Lee and Private Choi were given 10 days in the guardhouse. The other five will have to stay in the guardhouse for four days.

Following a broadcast of SBS′ In Depth 21, which voiced concern at how PR units were being managed, the Ministry decided to discontinue its PR agent policy and close down the unit.
