It has yet to be decided which branch of the armed forces he will be dispatched to. There was a rumor that he will hold a press conference regarding his enlistment prior to his upcoming concert in Seoul, but it turned out to be incorrect.

Rain tweeted, “Is joining the military something to brag about to the point of having a press conference? A false report again.ㅠ.ㅠ As soon as the exact date is confirmed, I’ll let you know and bid a farewell. And the press conference [planned to be held] is not related to my enlistment, but about a big project taking place prior to enlistment.”

Netizens reacted by tweeting, “Cool, Rain. It’s just two years. I can wait for you”, “I’m looking forward to your concert”, “Be with us during the remaining time before you leave”, “I’ll write you.”

Meanwhile, Rain is currently in the midst of filming Flight: Close to the Sun and is planning to release a new album before enlisting in the army. His last concert before enlistment will be held at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Gymnasium on September 24.
