ZE:A’s Hyung Sik Rejected YG and SM in the Past
Already oozing of star appeal, ZE:A’s Hyung Sik revealed that YG and SM Entertainment tried to scout him, which the ZE:A member rejected.
On July 23, Hyung Sik appeared on SBS’ Incarnation with IU, Lee Hyun Woo, and fellow member, Kwang Hee.
On the show, MC Bong Tae Gyu mentioned that Hyung Sik was a vocalist in his high school band, and used to wiwn competitions.
“I heard that he was actually scouted a lot by a lot of famous entertainment companies, including companies we know like SM or YG,” said Bong Tae Gyu. Kim Gura asked why Hyung Sik didn’t go to those agencies.
“At the time, I didn’t do all that because my dream was to be a singer. I just loved music. I didn’t even know anything about agencies,” explained Hyung Sik. He later added that he ended up at Star Empire Entertainment because the agency said it needed someone like him in the company.
