Noh Hong Chul has been confirmed as a member of the upcoming The Genius 2, a decision that will give him the chance to use his trickster character to its full potential.

Producer Jung Jong Yeon told enews right after the last episode of The Genius aired on July 12, "It has been decided that Noh Hong Chul will be joining the second season of the show."

Right after the last episode, a video had played to hint at the possibility of a second season, as it showed Noh Hong Chul receiving an invitation from the show. Captions had also implied that the new season would air in November.

Jung Jong Yeon said, "Only Noh Hong Chul has been confirmed as of yet. We wanted to have him for our first season, but it didn′t work out because we couldn′t reach an agreement on some issues. We′re looking forward to what he′ll have to show us since we′ve cast him with much difficulty."

Noh Hong Chul is well known for his trickster image in variety, born from his antics on MBC′s Infinity Challenge. This fact has been drawing more attention as to how his character will play out on The Genius.

The show will also be moving to a new time slot, giving Noh Hong Chul less reason to worry about being on two shows at the same time. MBC′s I Live Alone, which also features Noh Hong Chul, had aired in the same time slot as The Genius.

"We′ll start producing the second season with aims to have it air in November," Jung Jong Yeon continued. "We′ve drawn a big picture on what the second season will be like as soon as it was confirmed it will be produced, but we′ll take our time on developing the games and casting the members for the show."
