New Stills of Lee Seung Gi Undergoing Military Drills Released
MBC has released more still cuts of Lee Seung Gi for upcoming drama The King 2Hearts ahead of its premiere later this month, and this time, it features the actor undergoing military drills.
According to production staff, the stills were shot on February 1 in Gyeongi-do at a site located between Paju and Yangju. Lee is said to have shot the scenes in the freezing cold for over three hours, not only acting out the chemical gas drills in a CBR (chemical, biological, radiological) room used for actual military drill exercises but rolling around in the snowfields.
The scenes filmed on this day reveal Lee Seung Gi’s character Lee Jae Ha, the crown prince of South Korea, serving the standard military term that is required of all men in the country. However, the military superiors seem to be at a loss of what to do with Lee during training because he is royalty.
Although smog and other special effects were used to simulate the chemical gas drill, Lee, who had no prior experience performing the drill, was praised for his portrayal of the scene.
The scenes captured in the production stills will be shown in the first episode of the drama set to air on March 14.
