Idol group Big Bang revealed that the members, who were troubled by a flurry of rumors last year, lay bare their honest feelings in the new album.

Big Bang held a press conference for its 2012 Big Show/Big Bang Alive Tour at the Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul’s Olympic Park on March 2, where the members opened up about the album.

The group’s leader, G-Dragon, said, “It’s an album that was made after having experienced many things, so we thought a lot of while making the album. Our worries and thoughts remain intact [in the album].” He added, “While we were considering album titles, ‘Alive’ came to mind. We named it ‘Alive’ because we thought that the only way to answer our fans was through music.”

G-Dragon continued, “Because of this, today’s concert has become a first broadcast of sorts, where we’re introducing new information. We are nervous and feel burdened by the thought of having to meet the audience’s expectations.” He added, “However, because it’s a concert and not a broadcast, I think we’ll be able to enjoy ourselves more.”

On being called an ‘artist,’ a term that is rarely used to describe idol singers, G-Dragon said, “I’m happiest when I hear things like that and consider it a huge compliment.” He continued, “Before we call ourselves musicians, it’s more important for the people who listen to our music to sense that. I think we need to work harder.”

The group’s Big Show tour has almost become a brand, in and of itself, since its birth in 2009. This year, the boys will traverse 16 countries and 25 cities, for the show that will be brought to life in partnership with Live Nation, the global events promoter that has produced the world tours of artists like Madonna, Lady Gaga and U2.

Big Bang will unveil all of the tracks contained in the new mini album Alive, released on February 29, at the concert, which will go on for two more days on March 3 and 4.
