Five Keyword Spoilers for ‘1 Night, 2 Days 2’
The second season of KBS2’s 1 Night, 2 Days is close to opening its doors on March 4. Because the first season was so beloved across the country as a household name, the second season has a lot of people wondering how the second season will turn out.
The second season will be produced by producer Choi Jae Hyung, with the new members Kim Seung Woo, Cha Tae Hyun, Sung Si Kyung and Ju Won, and the original members Lee Su Geun, Uhm Tae Woong and Kim Jong Min.
The new team filmed the first episode of the show on February 24 in Incheon, and on February 28 everyone agreed at the press roundtable that “it was a shoot that everyone would’ve been satisfied with.”
So what will this satisfactory first episode be like? We put together some keywords mentioned at the press roundtable we can look forward to seeing in the March 4 broadcast.
Kim Seung Woo earned himself the nickname ‘Newborn’ in the first shoot. Writer Choi Jae Young thought it up because he kept falling asleep like a newborn baby whenever he had time between shoots. His wife Kim Nam Ju had been so worried that he wouldn’t be able to sleep in a new environment because he’s so sensitive, but it turned out there was no need to worry - at all.
On this, Lee Su Geun said, “Seung Woo hyung (big brother) came looking like a patient because he hadn’t had any proper sleep for four days, but on our first night for 1 Night, 2 Days he slept so deeply he even snored.”
The first day of filming was also big brother Kim Seung Woo’s birthday. The members prepared a special party to celebrate.
Although they didn’t get to have a cake with candles or prepare a big feast, the members said they got him the seaweed soup that Koreans traditionally have to have on their birthdays. Kim Seung Woo has high standards though, so whether the members managed to live up to it will be revealed through the broadcast.
Cha Tae Hyun already has a definite character lined up for himself: ‘Lazy Cha’. In other real variety programs like MBC’s Infinity Challenge or SBS’ Running Man and Family Outing, he was nicknamed Cha Hee Bin (Cha Tae Hyun + Jang Hee Bin) for being sly and mischievous.
In 1 Night, 2 Days, however, he put everything down and was christened Lazy Cha. “He complained on why we had to climb this mountain, and put off everything he had to do saying he didn’t know why he had to do it,” Lee Su Geun said.
The viewers and netizens were most interested in the news that Cha Tae Hyun would be joining the show. Will he be able to live up to those expectations through Lazy Cha?
Season two of 1 Night, 2 Days will be continuing with the same format as season one. The producers won’t be giving the members their meals and beds without a fight. The members will also be deciding who will have to get up early in the morning to go fishing and the like through the show’s characteristic simple games.
The first episode will show how the members laughed and cried with the results of those games.
“You’ll be able to see the actors throw up through the games,” Lee Su Geun said. Did they throw up because of the seasickness on the boat, which they had to ride to get to the island where they were to start shooting, or the lance sauce they were forced to drink?
Lee Su Geun and Ju Won had two words to say. Pickled. Radishes.
Lee Su Geun said, “1 Night, 2 Days is like pickled radishes. They’re not very good side dishes, but in emergency situations they’re a great food.”
He added, “You’ll be able to learn why we keep talking about pickled radishes when you watch our first episode.”
Ju Won also said, “1 Night, 2 Days is like an escape for me. It was fun laughing and talking with the hyungs. The pickled radishes, too.”
Maybe Lee Su Geun and Ju Won had to have rice only with pickled radishes for dinner after losing at a game. We’ll all have to tune in to solve the mystery.
