Park Ji Sung spoke up about his relationship with SBS announcer Kim Min Ji at his press conference, held on June 20.

The press conference was originally to be about the donation event to be held by JS Foundation, but after news broke about his relationship with Kim Min Ji the day before on June 19, it also served as a means of officially acknowledging his relationship with the announcer.

Park Ji Sung appeared at the venue with a serious face.

He then started, "I originally wanted to make the announcement here, but I′ve come to acknowledge instead of announce [my love relationship] because of the pictures that have been released. I′m sorry I didn′t get to make the surprise announcement today."

Park Ji Sung and Kim Min Ji have been seeing each other for about a year. On June 18, the couple was caught on a date in Hangang Park, watching the soccer game between Korea and Iran on DMB.

As the soccer player has been involved in numerous marriage rumors, the issue of whether he would be finally be tying the knot with his first public lover sparked interest among his fans and the public.

He said, "We haven′t been talking yet about marriage. We became an official couple over summer break."

He added, "I met her through my father about a year ago, as he introduced me to a girl saying she was okay. I heard announcer Bae Seong Jae introduced her to my father first."

Park Ji Sung then said toward his lover, Kim Min Ji, "I′m used to these kinds of things, but I don′t think she will be, and so I′m sorry. She′s been doing well, though, so I′m very thankful."

Announcer Kim Min Ji currently hosts SBS′ Football Magazine Goal! and Live Today.
