JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong and Park Yoo Chun to Battle in Traditional Dramas

JYJ fans are up for a big treat, as news that Kim Jae Joong will also be appearing in a drama, following Park Yoo Chun’s own casting in a different drama, has been released. Fans are especially in a buzz because both will dramas will be ‘time slip period pieces’, which alternate between the Joseon period and the 21st century.

Park will be starting off first as the lead of SBS’ Rooftop Prince, which will air its first episode on March 14. Rooftop Prince is a fantasy romance about how the Crown Prince Lee Gak loses his Crown Princess but leaps 300 years into the future to love her again in 21C Seoul.

Kim Jae Joong will be trying out his first traditional drama role as the Joseon officer Kim Kyung Tak in Time Slip Dr. Jin, which will start airing in early 2012.

Time Slip Dr. Jin will be a medical drama which tells of how the most skilled doctor in Korea travels back in time and works as a doctor in the 1860s, the Joseon period. The story is based on a Japanese manga of the same title by Motoka Murakami.

Park Yoo Chun will be taking on his second fusion period piece since Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and Kim Jae Joong will be acting in his first traditional drama since he made a successful debut as an actor in Protect the Boss.

Netizens have sent in supportive messages such as ‘Looking forward to both time slip period pieces’ and ‘I’m happy that we can see them in dramas’.
