She continued, "I wish to apologize for using a controversial term on today′s Choi Hwa Jung′s Power Time. I regret using the word without knowing its meaning. I′m sorry. I′ll be careful so that such a thing never happens again. Again, I am so sorry."

Jeon Hyosung had appeared with the Secret members on the SBS Power FM radio show Choi Hwa Jung′s Power Time.

The comment in question went, "We respect individuality in our team. We don′t ′democratize.′"

The comment immediately went viral and sparked great controversy across the web.

The term ′democratization′ is taken out of its original meaning to be used differently in an extreme rightist site named ′Daily Best′, or ′Ilbe′. The site looks down on the democratization movements that took place in Gwangju, and uses the word negatively to mean ′oppression′ or ′bullying′. The site is shunned by a majority of netizens.

Netizens came to criticize Jeon Hyosung as she used the word perfectly the way the site would use it, bringing many to believe she is a member of the site.

Secret is currently promoting its new single Yoo Hoo.
