[Video Review] 2PM Turns Up the Subtlety in ′All Day I Think Of You′
2PM is out to charm more subtly this time instead of roaring like beasts for its upcoming comeback, as A.D.T.O.Y. (All Day I Think Of You), as well as its music video, seems to be all about slick charm.
Though the general mood is pretty calm, the one thing not subtle in this video is its beginning.
Once you click on the play button, the song just barges in out of nowhere.
There′s no warmup; it just starts up and mostly rumbles along on the same level during the four minutes and eight seconds.
The beginning scenes are also sudden and surprising, as images of each member getting very, very close to a woman flash in and out.
Enough to give any fan a heart attack.
The rest of the video is history, as the 2PM members either dance in their chairs, hold a woman in their arms or sing against a white backdrop with a mysterioous woman dancing around them.
Most of the action is concentrated on the members′ scenes with the woman, as they rip pearls off necks and do much more than just hold hands. There′s nothing really dynamic in the choreography itself except for the members′ deep eyes and serious expressions.
Though the video keeps it simple in black and white, it somehow succeeds in showing what a colorful group 2PM is.
So comes the final twist. Apparently it turns out all six members have fallen for the same woman, proven by the same snake tattoo she has on her ankle.
The video would have honestly been better without the twist though, since it turns the 2PM members into unwitting puppets, rather than the mature men they′re trying to be.
But there′s just too much 2PM to take in at this point in the video to care too much about that. All we′re thinking of right now is of how Jang Wooyoung had no shirt on.
Mmm. What woman?
