“The quality and popularity of The Sun and the Moon will make it popular in Japan, also,” the official added. “The actors in the piece will be able to put themselves in a firmer position in Japan.”

The drama is expected to be sold at a high price to other countries considering how it’s already greatly popular in Japan.

Pan Entertainment, the production company of The Sun and the Moon, and the MBC Global Office has been talking about exporting the publication rights for the drama, and rumor has it that the drama will sell at 100 million won per episode.

The hallyu stars Kim Soo Hyun and Jung Il Woo played a big role in raising the prices for The Sun and the Moon. Kim became a star in Asia with the KBS2 drama Dream High. Jung stepped up as a hallyu star in Japan with the MBC sitcom High Kick, KBS drama My Fair Lady, SBS’ 49 Days and tvN’s Cool Guys, Hot Ramen.
