Views for Red Soul’s Video Spike after Performing with IU
Guess IU′s popularity is infectious!
Red Soul performed with IU at the 21st High 1 Seoul Music Awards held on January 19, and although the group carried out no promotions after that, the video it previously posted on a portal site soon shot up close to 100,000 views.
A source close to Red Soul told enews on February 6, “Red Soul posted a video on January 7 in order to promote its studio album, which was scheduled to be released on January 19. On the day of the album’s release, the group sang an a capella version of IU’s Good Day with IU at the High 1 Seoul Music Awards. Thanks to IU’s popularity, Red Soul also made it to the keyword search charts and came to be at the center of attention.”
Red Soul even made it to the no. 3 spot at its highest on a portal site’s keyword search chart after its performance with IU, an impressive feat for a rookie group that just had its first performance.
Red Soul’s leader Hwang Tae Ik said in thanks, “I can’t forget the flutter I felt when I saw IU for the first time. Although we’re older, we’re rookies, and I think our young senior gave us a great opportunity.”
Red Soul is a group that aims toward performing pop music mixed with R&B and soul. The group’s title single from its first studio album Stay With Me is in duet form, and features the rookie JC Jieun.
