Park Si Yeon, Lee Seung Yeon and Jang Mi In Ae Appear at First Propofol Abuse Hearing
Park Si Yeon, Lee Seung Yeon and Jang Mi In Ae have denied the propofol abuse charges at their first hearing.
The hearing was held on March 25 at the Seoul Central District Court.
The three actresses did not answer any questions from the press and entered the courtroom quietly, clad in coats, glasses and scarves.
The hearing centered on clearing up whether the three had conspired with their doctors and whether the two doctors also charged in the case knew they were addicted to the drug.
Park Si Yeon′s attorney said they only "need to look over the facts," while Lee Seung Yeon′s attorney denied all charges, saying, "We acknowledge that [Lee Seung Yeon] received the injections but they were administered for medical purposes with a doctor′s prescription."
Jang Mi In Ae′s attorney also maintained that she received injections with prescriptions and added, "This case undermines the painful efforts celebrities put into themselves."
Justice Sung Su Jae said, "There is an attorney who hasn′t looked over the records. Please turn in the lists of your evidence after hearing from the accused before the next trial."
The next hearing will take place on April 8.
Park Si Yeon, Lee Seung Yeon and Jang Mi In Ae were booked without detention for the abuse of propofol.
According to prosecution, Park Si Yeon received 185 injections in total, Lee Seung Yeon 111 and Jang Mi In Ae 95.
