[Exclusive] Kim Je Dong’s Ulsan Talk Concert Cancelled for Political Reasons?
The Ulsan performance of Kim Je Dong’s talk concert, No Brake Season 3, which was originally scheduled for March 4, has been cancelled due to the reversal of the Ulsan KBS venue’s decision to let Kim use the venue.
According to Kim Je Dong’s agency Daeum Entertainment, Ulsan KBS recently informed the agency that they could not let Kim use the venue, resulting in the cancellation of the concert.
A rep from Daeum Entertainment said, “Ulsan KBS said that ‘some of those who attended the Busan concert at the Busan KBS Hall on January 14 filed complaints that the content of the concert didn’t seem appropriate for the KBS Hall, as it is owned by KBS, a government run broadcasting system. As such, the concert cannot take place in the Ulsan KBS Hall,’ and so the concert was cancelled.”
Interpark, which oversees ticket sales for the concert, posted a notice on February 2 that the concert had been cancelled, and is providing refunds for all tickets without any additional fees.
A rep from Insight Entertainment, the host of the concert, stated, “Ulsan KBS cancelled the concert without any prior notice for political reasons.”
Kim Je Dong’s talk concert No Brake started in 2009, and is currently in its third season. It is soon expected to break through an accumulated audience of 100,000.
