‘City Hunter’ and ‘Personal Taste’ to Air in Japan: Lee Min Ho vs. Lee Min Ho?
Lee Min Ho is taking over the Japanese small screen.
Lee Min Ho’s two dramas, SBS’ City Hunter and MBC’s Personal Taste will each be airing on Fuji TV and TBS.
Fuji TV announced on its webpage that the SBS drama City Hunter will be airing five episodes at once starting from February 6 under the title City Hunter in Seoul. The MBC drama Personal Taste, in which Lee starred with Son Ye Jin, will be airing on TBS from February 16.
As such, Lee will be competing against himself for the top drama spot. Having one actor’s pieces air over the same period of time in two different channels is an unprecedented feat.
Japanese officials stated, “Japanese viewers will be falling for Jun Jin Ho of Personal Taste and then become addicted to Lee Yoon Sung of City Hunter. Lee Min Ho will rise as the star of the Japanese small screen.”
About this issue, a rep from Lee’s agency said, “There are a lot of offers coming from Japan, and since the end of last year, the interest on Lee Min Ho isn’t cooling down because City Hunter is continuing to air in many different countries.”
Currently Lee is trying to decide what steps to take next for his career while taking a well-earned rest. The agency hinted that it’s planning a new promotional event for his drama fans and that it will take place soon.
