Girls’ Generation came out on ABC’s popular talk show Live! with Kelly on February 1 (Local time) to perform The Boys for American audiences.

The show also brought in Hollywood’s top star Jennifer Lopez as a guest on the same day, having Girls’ Generation perform alongside American top stars in film and pop music.

During the girls’ performance, their fans in the studio cheered them on in Korean and even sang along with the song, loudly enough to have their cheers be heard by viewers sitting in front of their televisions.

The show’s MC Kelly introduced the group saying, “They’re pop superstars from Korea who are taking the U.S. by storm. Their new CD is in stores now, here is Girls’ Generation.”

After the performance, she held a brief interview with the girls, starting off by saying, “I’d like to announce that these girls are from South Korea, and they are making their morning show debut right here in our studio.”

Kelly seemed to be surprised at the loud applause coming from the audience, and didn’t leave out her praise for the girls’ splendid looks, saying, “You are such a gorgeous group of women.”

Comedian Howie Mandel, who was a one-day MC for the show, drew out some laughs by randomly saying that he knows the Korean word for potato. Kelly then continued to introduce the special album Girls’ Generation released in America on January 17, and wrapped up the interview dancing a move from the choreography of The Boys that she learned onstage.

We made great progress yesterday and today for Girls’ Generation’s advancement into the American market, and it was perfect. We’re looking forward to having more brilliant opportunities like this for success.”

Live! with Kelly is a morning talk show that airs every weekday on ABC, and is the morning talk show with the highest viewership ratings. It is also said to be the talk show that will follow in the footsteps of the Oprah Winfrey Show. Girls’ Generation is the first Korean group to perform on the show.

Girls’ Generation appeared in CBS’ The Late Show with David Letterman and ABC’s Live! with Kelly, and also held an interview with NBC’s entertainment news program Extra TV. The group thus proved its global popularity and influence by appearing in America’s main channels CBS, ABC and NBC.
