The Brown Eyed Girls have been conspicuously absent from the k-pop scene, but the queens of sexy-cool are finally making their comeback on September 16.

The girls have regrouped for their fourth studio album, which will be released on September 30, and will stand together on stage for the first time in two years.

Can Brown Eyed Girls Work Its Abracadabra Magic Again?

The group originally planned to comeback earlier this year, but burdened by the pressure to eclipse the success of hit singles Abracadabra and Sign in 2009, the Brown Eyed Girls pushed the release of its new album back almost eight months.

Since the confirmation of Brown Eyed Girls’ comeback, the music industry has been abuzz over whether the girls will release an upgraded electronic track, return to their ballad roots or surprise fans with a totally new sound. However, the group’s concept has been kept under tight wraps.

The group’s agency, Nega Network, told enews on September 7, “We’re quite satisfied with the outcome. We’re aware that many popular girl groups will be making comebacks in September, but we’re ready to take them on. The group’s comeback is set for September.”

Lance, the president of Nega Network said, “I heard that many of the top girl groups plan to make comebacks in September. Concerned parties have suggested staggering the comebacks, but I want to meet everyone on stage again.” He displayed his confidence in the album saying, “This album will showcase the power of a girl group gifted with top-notch vocal abilities.”

He added, “As news began circulating in the beginning of the year about the Brown Eyed Girls’ comeback, we were flooded with inquiries about a comeback date. We received more inquiries from foreign fans than Korean fans through SNS. Although Korean fans can keep up to date with news pertaining to the group through our media sources, we decided to disclose the comeback date sooner out of concern for the fans overseas who may not have access to the same information and be misinformed. The girls plan to meet with fans beginning this fall until the new year to make up for the two years they’ve been away.”

Riding off of the incredible success of the Brown Eyed Girls’ 2009 single Abracadabra, members Narsha and Ga-in impressed fans with their respective solo singles Bbi Ri Bba Bba and Irreversible in 2010.
