According to the Seoul Northern District Court, Kang Sung Hoon turned in his appeal on February 15 through his legal representative. The action starts up a new round of legal processions in a case that seemed to have been settled on February 13.

A source close to the singer told enews, "He had reached an agreement with Mr. Oh and worked hard to compensate for the harm done; we believe the jail sentence was too harsh."

In the final hearing held on February 13, justice Kang Young Hoon had stated that through Kang Sung Hoon showed efforts to make up for the harm done to the victims Mr. Hwang, Mr. Park and Mr. Oh, the justice department still found him guilty.

"We sentence him to two years and six months in jail. As his sentence is a jail sentence, we cancel his bail and order him to be imprisoned," the justice had announced to the court.

Kang Sung Hoon was immediately put under court custody following the trial.

Kang Sung Hoon was sued by the three victims from 2009 to January 2012 for failing to pay back a debt of about 900 million won.
