And another girl group is attempting to make it big in Japan.

Rookie group CHI-CHI is planning to release a digital single album this coming April. Trophy Entertainment, the group’s agency, has signed a contract with Promenade, a management agency in Japan.

Will CHI-CHI Be The Next Kara?

CHI-CHI, which once was made up of seven girls, will now be composed of five members (Sui, Semi, A-zi, Boreum, and Shine).

Starting January 26, the girls are planning to put on a special performance titled, ‘Shibuya CHI-CHI Festival’ at Tower Record’s ‘Stage One’ in Shibuya every month. The group will start its promotions in Japan by appearing on various TV and radio shows, as well as on and offline magazines.

CHI-CHI’s agency stated, “We’ve continued to network with Japanese record and management companies, and have systematically set up the group’s activities in Japan. We’ll showcase CHI-CHI as a group that is different from the other idols in the Japanese music industry.”

The agency also added, “We’ve also added a new member, Shine, into the group. Although the girls have yet to debut in Japan, their official home page is continuing to gather popularity and fans are anticipating their debut.”

Meanwhile, CHI-CHI flew to Japan on January 22 to perform at ‘KISS (Korean International Style Show’, which will take place in Tokyo from January 25 to the 27.
