The award followed three others: the Female Rookie Award from the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards held in Singapore in November 2011, the Idol Music Rookie Award from the Korean Culture & Entertainment Award, and the Rookie Award from the Golden Disk Awards held in Osaka on January 11. The four awards were enough to crown the group as the greatest rookie of 2011, a title which was must contested for among the swamp of new groups.

A Pink made its debut in April 2011 with its album Seven Springs of A Pink, and topped music charts with singles from the album such as I Don’t Know and It Girl. It even won the no. 1 spot on Mnet’s M Countdown with its most recent single My My.

The group is now the hottest rookie in Korea, winning rookie awards, topping music show charts and being swamped with love calls from variety shows and advertisement officials.
