[Poll] Which Lovely Lady is the Nation’s True First Love?
Continuing on with this month’s LOVE theme, we’re spotlighting some of Korea’s representative First Loves in this week’s poll, so read on and let us know who is most deserving of the title.
Song Hye Kyo
The actress was recently named the ‘Nation’s First Love’ on KBS’ Generation Sympathy Saturday, beating out the late Choi Jin Shil and miss A’s Suzy and making for formidable competition among today’s young starlets vying for the title.
Thirteen years later, and viewers are still sprung on Song Hye Kyo’s character on Autumn in My Heart, as voters who participated in the poll cited her innocent image in the 2000 KBS drama as why she will forever be the nation’s first love.
Will Song Hye Kyo steal hearts once again when she makes her small screen comeback with upcoming SBS drama Wind Blows in Water?
Find out when it airs on February 13.
Moon Geun Young
Moon Geun Young is another actress who comes to mind at the mention of the title ‘Nation’s First Love.’
She coincidentally played the younger version of Song Hye Kyo’s character on Autumn in My Heart, but the all-grown-up Moon Geun Young most recently stole hearts in Cheongdamdong Alice.
Moon Geun Young has been valiantly defending her other title as the ‘Nation’s Little Sister’ against singers like IU, but we think the wide-eyed star is a strong contender for this title as well.
If Song Hye Gyo and Moon Geun Young are the good girls next door, Lee Hyori is your friend’s hot older sister. What new K-Pop fans may not know, however, is that there was once a time when she was the nation’s little sister as one-fourth of girl group Fin.K.L.
As such, she was the girl all of the boys (who grew up in the 90s, at least) were crushing on. If our walls were covered with posters of H.O.T.’s Kangta, our older brothers had photos of Lee Hyori plastered on their walls.
Lee Hyori may be a veteran in the idol world, but she is known to bring it with every comeback, and having confirmed that she will be returning with her fifth album this summer, we suspect she’ll be back to breaking hearts very soon.
IU has been all the rage in recent years, so it should come as no surprise that she makes our list of ‘Nation’s First Love’ contenders.
Although she’s a favorite among ‘uncle fans’ for her innocent image, her recent photo scandal proved she’s not perfect, and we somehow couldn’t hate her for it.
We fell in love with IU on Dream High, and the singer will return to the small screen via KBS’ You’re the Best Lee Soon Shin in March.
IU is set to play a loser in the upcoming drama, but if anyone can make dorky loveable, it’s IU.
When it comes to the whole package, we can’t leave out Girls’ Generation member and actress Yoona. She’s the girl the boys love to love and the girls love to hate because she’s simply perfect.
While her pretty face and lean figure make Yoona Girls’ Generation’s centerpiece, she has proven herself in the acting world, starring in hit dramas like You Are My Destiny and Love Rain
Yoona often ranks at the top of ‘First Love Icon’ polls, and when the people speak, we listen.
Many women have carried the title before her, but the ‘Nation’s First Love’ title has preceded miss A member and actress Suzy’s name since she appeared in hit movie Architecture 101.
Although miss A’s Suzy is known for her strong, independent woman image on stage, that doesn’t mean actress Suzy can’t turn on the sweet girl next door on screen.
Set to star opposite Lee Seung Gi, who, by the way, is a strong contender for the male ‘Nation’s First Love title, in MBC’s upcoming drama The Writings of Nine Houses, we’re sure the boys are more than ready to fall in love with Suzy all over again.
It′s a highly contested topic, but we want to know who is the true Nation′s First Love? Let us know by voting below!
