‘Hello’ Participant Criticized for Bashing Infinite’s Hoya
Understanding the difficulties of not being able to pronounce things properly, Infinite H’s Hoya kindly gave some advice and a solution for a participant on KBS’ Hello on February 4.
However, off-air, the participant bashed Hoya for ruining his chances at winning.
Hello is a program that listens to a person’s worry and has the audience vote on whether it is a big worry. The person with the most votes takes home many prizes, including money.
Right before the voting, Hoya suggested a solution, causing the participant to only receive 43 votes out of 150 people.
On his personal SNS, the participant wrote, “It seemed like I could win, so I even cried (on the show), but Hoya f*cked it up,” and “Hoya, S.O.B.”
As screen caps of the post spread, the participant apologized to Infinite fans.
“I have no negative feelings towards Hoya. I was just playing around with my friend that I didn’t think about how it would bother fans. I also never thought what I said would have this much influence. I’m really thankful for Hoya for giving me a solution. I apologize again and again to fans for my thoughtless actions.”
When a netizen questioned whether he went on the show to get money, he replied, “I didn’t appear on the show to win money and I’m not pretending about my lisp…people around me know. But I’m still very apologetic to fans. I was very careless.”
