Jay Park Wishes His Fans Happy New Year
It’s never too late to greet someone a Happy New Year in January, especially with the Lunar New Year still ahead, so we can’t say Jay Park is a latecomer to the rank of well-wishing stars; he’s right on time.
Park revealed a video of himself wishing his fans a Happy New Year through his agency′s official site (for members only) on January 18.
He started off the video with a greeting saying, “The Year of the Dragon is here. Happy New Year and I hope you only have great things ahead of you this year.”
He added, “It’s already been about a year since I started officially promoting my album,” referring to the year and a half long hiatus between his departure from 2PM and his debut as a solo singer.
“I thank you for waiting for me,” he said. “I’m working hard on [my upcoming] album also, so please wait a little longer.”
After receiving a request to come up with a poem with two lines each starting with Im and Jin, which put together as Imjin means the Year of the Dragon, he cleverly came up with a poem that translated to “The Year of the Dragon is here. I sincerely wish for your happiness.”
He also wished for himself, “I hope I’ll be able to wrap up preparations for my upcoming album nicely. I also want to hold a solo concert.”
Lastly, Park pretended to bow down to the camera, and cutely asked for a cash gift traditionally given to children in return for their bows during the Lunar New Year.
Park may have another great year ahead of him, as is leading a successful solo career, being the only solo singer to win the Bonsang at the 26th Golden Disk Awards held on January 11 in Osaka. He will be releasing an album on February 7.
We can′t upload the video here, but in the meantime, check out another vid featuring the Sidus stars!
