‘Pledis Boys’ Officially Named NU’EST
Pledis Entertainment, the agency that is home to artists Son Dambi and After School, has released a teaser photo of its first five-member male idol group NU’EST.
According to the agency, NU’EST is the official name of the new group, and a teaser image of the boys was released on January 17. NU’EST stands for New (NU), Establish (E) Style (S) Trend (T), and it signifies the group’s aim to ‘establish a new style that matches the music.′
The group had been referred to as the ‘Pledis Boys’ since the members took part in the agency’s project album Happy Pledis and appeared in the music video as well as on music programs for Love Letter, which was released at the end of last year. They have also previously appeared in a promotional ad for athletic brand New Balance.
