Kara’s Nicole Shows Up at the Preview of ‘My Way’
Kara’s Nicole made a surprise appearance at the preview of the movie My Way in Japan.
The singer took part in the event, which was held on January 10 in Nakano, as a cast member of the movie because she made a cameo appearance on the movie as a receptionist at a press conference hall.
On the day, Nicole came to the venue wearing black horn-rimmed glasses and black jacket to match her role in the movie. She volunteered to hand out pamphlets to local audience members and climbed onto the stage along with director Kang Je Gyu to greet the audience prior to the screening. As Nicole showed up, the audience members who filled up the 2,200-capacity theater hailed her with hearty cheers and applauses.
To this, Kang joked, “If I knew Nicole had been gaining this much popularity in Japan, I would’ve extended her scenes.”
Though Nicole makes a quick, blink-or-you′ll-miss-it appearance in the film, the Kara member was happy just to be in the film at all.
“Thanks to director Kang Je Gyu, I had a chance to be in a movie for the first time in my life. In an effort to help out the movie, I disguised myself as a receptionist and handed out pamphlets, and nobody recognized me," said Nicole. "I succeeded in my disguise. My character who hands pamphlets shows up briefly, so don’t miss it.”
She added, “The movie depicts a ruthless and torturing time in history, and contains messages for the future. I hope young generations who haven’t experienced war watch this movie.”
